Loaded cost = hourly wage รท the share wages make up of total compensation (70.0% nationally, BLS June 2026).
This is the value of the time saved, not the cost of the automation. Pricing depends on what you automate, and you get it in writing before you commit.
Automation frees up time; it doesn't replace a great team member for everything. Many businesses use people at peak hours and automation after hours and for the repetitive steps.

About 494 hours and about $14,100 a year, roughly a quarter of a full-time role.
Hours, wage and automation shares are example inputs. The 0.70 factor is from BLS, June 2026.

Quick answer
Add up the weekly hours your team spends on each repetitive task, multiply each by the share you could automate, and multiply by 52 weeks. Then multiply those hours by the loaded hourly cost: the wage divided by 0.70, because wages are 70.0% of private-industry employer compensation costs (BLS, June 2026).
Enter the hours per week your team spends on five repetitive tasks.
Set how much of each task you think could be automated.
Enter an hourly wage.

The calculator adds up the time your team spends on five repetitive tasks and estimates how much of it automation could take over:
A wage isn't the whole cost of an employee. In June 2026, wages and salaries made up 70.0% of private-industry employer compensation costs ($32.82 of $46.89 per hour worked), and benefits made up the other 30.0%, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Dividing the wage by 0.70, which is the same as multiplying by about 1.43, gives a loaded cost closer to what an hour of work really costs you. Your benefits may differ, so you can change it.
The default of 50% for each task is an assumption, not a promise. Some tasks, like appointment reminders, can run almost entirely on their own. Others, like complex sales conversations, shouldn't be automated at all. Start with work that's repetitive, rules-based and close to revenue.
The result shows the value of the time saved, not the cost of the automation. Pricing depends on what you automate, and you'll get it in writing before you commit. It also leaves out the revenue side: faster follow-up can win more customers, which the Speed-to-Lead Calculator estimates separately.

It's the wage plus benefits and other compensation costs. In June 2026, wages were 70.0% of private-industry employer compensation costs (BLS), so we divide the wage by 0.70 to estimate the full cost of an hour.
It depends on the task. Reminders and confirmations can run almost entirely on their own. Complex sales conversations shouldn't be automated at all. The 50% default is an assumption you should adjust.
It shouldn't be the goal. Automation takes the repetitive steps so your people can spend time on customers and the work only they can do. Many businesses use people at peak hours and automation after hours.
Start with the repetitive work closest to revenue: lead follow-up and appointment reminders. Those save time and help you win more customers at the same time.
